Accident prevention and safeguarding employee health are in place to ensure every employee goes home free from injury at the end of each working day. They aim to achieve zero lost time incidents in the UK and although their target is ambitious, CEMEX is confident this can and will be achieved.
Following the resounding success of the sessions delivered at two sites in September 2013, CEMEX were keen to increase the scale and ambition of their Health and Safety training and asked us to deliver to 18 sites and 1500 delegates from across their UK operation.
We were delighted to team up with the renowned motivational speaker Ken Woodward to deliver a day-long session that featured Ken’s inspirational delivery as the centrepiece of a powerful programme featuring theatre and facilitation.
As always our focus is on delivering an impact to create a change in our delegates attitude, which ultimately affects their safety behaviour. The following feedback sums up the day far better than we can.
“I just wanted to say a big thank you for yesterday’s safety day, I think the event was so well organised and the planning and detail that went into the day was outstanding. The talk on the journey home was so positive, honestly unbelievable for a safety day. Normally it’s the ‘same old, same old’ but yesterday was different .We all spoke of how great the day had been. A change / shift had taken place.
I have always felt confident to challenge unsafe practice and felt it’s something I have to do, but after yesterday I do feel I want to challenge. I want people to be safe and protected even if I have to protect them from themselves.”
“This is the best safety day I have attended; well run with some very powerful messages. You leave the meeting feeling empowered & believing we can all make a difference in delivering ZERO incidents.”
“This is I can say the best safety day I have attended.”
“I'm convinced that this will be remembered as a quantum leap step in our journey to interdependency and ZERO harm. The Juice team did a fantastic job... And Ken was brilliant!!!”
We’ll leave the final word to one of the hundreds of delegates who provided the following summary:
“Delivery: was not ‘death by PowerPoint’ strong visual messages from the role-play; humour where appropriate but very serious messages. The Juice guys played it perfectly - considered content played to us in a way which kept all engaged and contributing.
Ken Woodward's contribution was HUGE - made it all so personal and reinforced the LEGACY of an industrial accident; the impact on his family, friends, colleagues; how could I EVER not challenge an unsafe work practice ever again? His words will live with me forever.
How I will work differently in the future:
How it made me feel: - Proud; emotional; part of a great team; determined to be the best for all of our families I felt very privileged to join one of these professional and impactful events. I was inspired by your work.”
