"Juice Learning fully understood our requirements, are extremely flexible and great problem solvers – nothing is impossible!"
Linda Young, Corporate Affairs, SSE
In April 2010 Juice were chosen by Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) as their media production service provider for their annual Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Conferences.
SSE’s core purpose is to provide the energy people need in a reliable and sustainable way. They take great pride in their safety culture and have an enviable safety record in the energy industry. Having just had their best year to date the company had a lot to celebrate, but at the same time they wanted to stress the importance of high standards and maintaining improvements.
Juice was asked to provide video content for the SHE Conferences and also film the events in Edinburgh. The films included interviews with senior SSE managers, which were shot in Perth and Reading, and some scripted elements, which were filmed in the television studios at Leeds University.
The scripted elements Juice were asked to produce included two comical sketches that were to be used as part of safety-focused workshop that delegates would attend during the SHE Conferences. The inspiration for these films came from the classic Two Ronnies and John Cleese sketch, "I Know My Place".
By using the format of a three-tiered society, visualized through the vertical height of the three actors, and placing it within a safety-focused culture Juice created two engaging and conversation-starting sketches using a Senior Manager, a Supervisor and a Workman as the main characters.
With such a large and geographically diverse workforce Juice was also asked to produce a toolbox-talks DVD of the Edinburgh conferences. The disc included the keynote speeches of Ian Marchant (MD) and Colin Hood (COO), plus the associated PowerPoint presentations and film content, which would then be made available to all those unable to attend one of the SHE Conferences.
