A launch film for GKN's new safety campaign, thinkSAFE!, fronted by the company CEO and delivered to their global sites in 26 language versions.
The animations were based on recorded incidents from across the GKN organization and covered several areas of potential hazards, including: machines in motion, manual handling and fire/explosions. The requirement was that the incidents were to be used as part of a training session at GKN’s conference in Dallas.
The launch film for thinkSAFE! required CEO, Nigel Stein, to be filmed delivering the key messages about the company’s new safety initiative - a slightly more simple proposition!
We created the animations to be shown during a session where the audience was invited to participate and share their views and opinions on the subject matter, and even add an element of competition. The incidents were painstakingly researched and then each one was broken down into two sections: the first part would be played to the audience, setting up a number of potential hazards. The film would then pause and the audience would be given a multiple-choice list of options about what the actual outcome was, before the outcome was revealed in the second part of the film.
For the launch film we filmed GKN CEO Nigel Stein at their Filton site in Bristol. Part of the launch of the safety initiative is the creation of dedicated safety corners in every GKN facility, which are designed to deliver key safety information and messages, and one of these provided the backdrop for our film. With GKN being a global organization and this being a company-wide launch the film required 26 different language versions creating in postproduction.
