West Yorkshire Police’s conference on Stress Management aimed to educate managers and supervisors about recognizing, and being more aware of, stress issues in the volatile ‘999’ call centre environment.
The client wanted to create a buzz about the conference so that delegates didn’t turn up ‘cold’ and unprepared for the interactive event. They decided on creating a short film that would have the dual purpose of acting as an invitation to the conference and also opening the actual event. The film therefore needed to be hard-hitting and serious in tone. Juice didn’t feel the use of actors would hit the right tone so we decided to use props and sound design to create the correct atmosphere. The shoot took place at a photography studio in Ossett, was filmed on HDCAM, and was sound designed by Spencer Bain of VTR North, Leeds.
